Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, pursuant to subsection 5(1) ^{footnote a} of the Salaries Act ^{footnote b}, designates the Department of Employment and Social Development to provide support to the Minister of Families, Children and Social Development in the carrying out of that Minister’s responsibilities.
