CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL TRADE TRIBUNAL

DETERMINATION

Hotels, motels and commercial accommodation

Notice is hereby given that, after completing its inquiry, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal made a determination (Files No. PR-2019-054 and No. PR-2019-055) on April 29, 2020, with respect to two complaints filed by Newland Canada Corporation (Newland), of Calgary, Alberta, pursuant to subsection 30.11(1) of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal Act, R.S.C., 1985, c. 47 (4th Supp.), concerning two procurements (Solicitations No. W6775-20-0054 and No. W6775-20-0055) by the Department of National Defence. The solicitations were for hotel accommodation services for Canadian Armed Forces personnel in Cologne, Germany.

Newland alleged that it should have been awarded the contracts as it tendered the lowest-priced compliant bids.

Having examined the evidence presented by the parties and considered the provisions of various trade agreements, the Tribunal determined that the complaints were valid.

CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL TRADE TRIBUNAL

INQUIRY

Clothing, special purpose

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal has received a complaint (File No. PR-2020-002) from Hakson Gloves and Safety Wears Inc. (Hakson), of Mississauga, Ontario, concerning a procurement (Solicitation No. 202005604) by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). The solicitation was for the provision of slash-resistant gloves. Pursuant to subsection 30.13(2) of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal Act and subsection 7(2) of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal Procurement Inquiry Regulations, notice is hereby given that the Tribunal made a decision on April 21, 2020, to conduct an inquiry into the complaint.

Hakson alleges that the limited tender process, from which it was excluded, was unreasonable, unjustified and that it unfairly favoured a vendor located in the National Capital Region.

Further information may be obtained from the Registrar, Canadian International Trade Tribunal Secretariat, 333 Laurier Avenue West, 15th Floor, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0G7, 613‑993‑3595 (telephone), 613‑990‑2439 (fax), citt-tcce@tribunal.gc.ca (email).
