Notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of section 247 of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada) [the “Act”], that The Wawanesa Life Insurance Company (“WLIC”), a company incorporated pursuant to the Act, and Western Life Assurance Company, a company incorporated pursuant to the Act (together, the “Applicants”), intend to make a joint application to the Minister of Finance on or after August 26, 2019, for letters patent of amalgamation continuing the Applicants as one company under the name “The Wawanesa Life Insurance Company” with an executive office situated in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Copies of the report of the independent actuary are available for inspection by the participating policyholders of WLIC and the non-participating policyholders of WLIC with policies issued prior to October 1, 1993, upon written request to the Corporate Secretary of the WLIC, 200 Main Street, Suite 400, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 1A8.
