REGULATORY IMPACT
ANALYSIS STATEMENT

(This statement is not part of the Order.)

Description

The objective of this Order is to repeal the Ministers Designation Order(Canada Corporations Act) made under the Canada Corporations Act because it is spent (i.e. no longer enforced). In 1975 the Canada Business Corporations Act came into force. Section 262 of that Act prohibited any company from being incorporated or continued under Part I of the Canada Corporations Act. As a consequence, it is not possible for a company to be incorporated under sections 5.1 and 5.2 of the Canada Corporations Act, so the regulation is no longer required.

This Order is of a technical nature and its repeal will not reflect substantive changes. It is expected that the repealing of this Order will have no impact on Canadians.
